RESEARCH PROJECT IN THE ROLE OF REGULATORY T CELLS

Among the mechanisms of control of the immune response, an active role is played by regulatory T cells that suppress T cell functions. The aim of this research project is to focused on the characterization of naturally occurring CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells and to identify their precursors. In addition we are investigating the role of regulatory T cells in liver graft rejection.
